Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Business Development Officer to drive the growth of MAMLO Foods as a startup. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding our market presence. This role is crucial in shaping the future of MAMLO Foods and scaling our impact in peanut-growing communities. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in developing and executing business strategies that align with our mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research & Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities for growth and expansion in local and international markets.
    • Analyze industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform business strategies.
  • Partnership Development:
    • Identify, engage, and build relationships with potential partners, including distributors, retailers, NGOs, and government agencies.
    • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships that support MAMLO Foods’ growth objectives and mission.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
    • Manage the sales pipeline, including lead generation, proposal development, and closing deals.
  • Product Development Support:
    • Collaborate with the product development team to align new products with market needs and customer preferences.
    • Provide feedback on product performance and market reception to refine product offerings.
  • Brand Positioning & Awareness:
    • Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns that increase brand visibility and attract new customers.
    • Represent MAMLO Foods at industry events, trade shows, and community engagements to build brand awareness and credibility.
  • Impact Measurement & Reporting:
    • Monitor and report on business development activities and their impact on the company’s growth and community engagement.
    • Prepare regular reports for the management team on business performance and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, preferably in the food or agricultural sector.
  • Proven track record of identifying and securing business opportunities.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively in a startup environment.
  • Passion for social impact and community development.
