Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Community Liaison Officer to build and maintain strong relationships with peanut-growing communities, local organizations, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will serve as the bridge between MAMLO Foods and the communities we work with, ensuring effective communication, trust, and collaboration. This role is crucial for fostering community engagement, enhancing our impact, and aligning our operations with the needs and aspirations of the women smallholders we support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement:
    • Act as the primary point of contact between MAMLO Foods and the community, building strong relationships based on trust and transparency.
    • Organize and conduct community meetings, workshops, and training sessions to inform, educate, and engage stakeholders.
    • Identify and address community concerns, ensuring that MAMLO Foods’ activities are aligned with local needs and expectations.
  • Program Implementation:
    • Support the implementation of community-focused programs and initiatives, including training on sustainable farming practices.
    • Coordinate with community leaders and women smallholders to facilitate the adoption of the Micro-Factory Model.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
    • Liaise with local government authorities, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders to advocate for the needs of the community and explore potential partnerships.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that community feedback is integrated into product development, marketing strategies, and business operations.
  • Data Collection & Reporting:
    • Collect and document data on community engagement activities, program outcomes, and feedback from stakeholders.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports to management on community interactions and impact metrics.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Work, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in community engagement or a similar role, preferably in the agricultural or social enterprise sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in local languages and understanding of local cultures and customs.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
